Every corner of the house,

Reverberated with her sound.

With her, laughed the four walls,

They cried when she wailed.

The tiny girl had come to be,

The centre of every life around.

Born after a long wait of years;

The little one brought joyous tears.

Grandma hugged her with warmth;

The best of gifts Grandpa brought,

Her father sat by her always,

Her brother waited for her to play.

‘Apple of my eye,’ sang the mother,

While kith and kin flocked around,

To see the enchanting baby smile,

And her gurgling laughter to hear.

The princess adorable grew soon,

To a gorgeous and happy girl;

Her dimpled cheeks and curly locks,

Earned admiration from all folks.

From eyes evil, she was protected,

Nurtured she was with utmost care,

Inducing values the best of them,

So she could be a precious gem.

And shine wherever she goes,

A daughter cannot be always yours,

From an adorable princess here,

She becomes a queen elsewhere.
